WPS Pro Non-Ethernet Workaround

Postby calzone » Sun Feb 25, 2018 5:09 pm

I was able to get my WPS Pro to join a wifi network using an ethernet - wifi adapter (IOGEAR Ethernet-2-WiFi Universal Wireless Adapter).

In summary:

IOGEAR Ethernet-2-WiFi Universal Wireless Adapter + WPS Pro + DNP Printer = everything works

I wonder if it isn't all possible to use something like Airport Express or other extenders that have USB print servers built in to achieve the same result possibly even without the WPS Pro. It just seems silly to have a WPS Pro in between the printer and the network but you never actually use any wireless.

Well done on getting it working!

No, AFAIK a non-DNP product (like an Apple Airport) is not going to be able to print to a DNP printer, because the DNP drivers are proprietary. Meaning, normal products cannot print to DNP printers, because they don't speak DNP's special protocol.
