Hi seansmyth
Oops, it's a bug in SoloSlides - I just had a look at the code and I can see what is happening.
I'll try to get that fixed in an update soon.

That's amazing. Thanks for being so helpful - amazing!

I don't know if there are any other features / things that you're working on but I'd happily lend a hand on the UX / design side of things if you're interested? Or beta test or whatever for you :)

Hey seansmyth
The brightness bug should be fixed in the update that went out yesterday. Please let me know if 1.5.1 fixes the issue for you

Hi!
Just downloaded the app today!
I use it to display a huge Google Photos library with the shuffle mode, so often I have no clue about the place where the image was taken.
I appreciate the ability to display the time when the photo was taken, I really wish you could also add the display of the geolocation (based on the metadata of the photo).

Thanks!

I have been using a great Android app called Fotoo. One of the features I really like is the "Schedule".

I can tell it to run, for example, from 7am until midnight and then stop. (No point in running over night; we're sleeping).

I would love to have this feature in SoloSlides.

Hi vlbrown this feature already exists in SoloSlides. It is called night time mode please try it.

Just purchased the app and overall seems to be pretty easy to use. Have a couple suggestions based upon other Apps that I have seen on Android or for TVs. There is another app called Fotoo that has some very nice features such as pulling in the "Album Name" to display on the pictures in a slide show. This is very useful b/c I have dozens of folders from traveling over several decades and this is the only way I or someone else can easily discern when/where from the Album Title. Also isn't there an ability to do multiple albums from Google Photos? I have seen that in many other apps but this doesn't seem to support it, and I have already invested a lot of time to select the better photos and include them within a named album. thanks in advance for your time for addressing these questions/suggestions.

Hey. Love the app, have it set up on my desk at work using an old iPhone displaying a large Google photos library.

It would be great if there was an option to exclude photos that have been archived.

Love the app.
Any advance with accessing multiple Google Albums for the one slideshow?
Liveframe enables this - but is a poorer app.

Liveframe does not use the Google Photos API. They use the Google Drive API, which is different, and forces you to go turn on access to this first.
We are using the Photos API because that's what Google intended it to be for. You're right that it is frustrating that they haven't added support for multiple albums yet. They also haven't added support for streaming video and a bunch of other basic things.
Multiple-album support might be doable with a workaround but it's better if the API supports it properly.
In the meantime you are able to create new albums that are specific for the slideshow you want...

Appreciated Tim.
I remain a fan and will put together an album as you suggest.

Hi,
Coolest feature for me would be the location of the picture - since I have quite some landscape pictures it's not always as easy to tell which palce the pic belongs to (especially if you'd like to show of some pictures :P)

hi reg1n if Google ever allows us to access that information we will show it. It is currently not possible for us to access this data, presumably for privacy concerns

Any chance of getting a local temperature display along with the clock & date?

Hi all,

- NEW: Photos animated with a Ken Burns effect (this is turned off by default)
- NEW: Show only favorited Google Photos
- NEW: When showing the photo date, the name of the album or the date range selected will also be shown
- NEW: Setting to hide replay button after videos end
- NEW: Setting to hide loading spinner
- FIXED: if something interrupts the app such as an incoming Facetime call, the slideshow will resume when the app is back in the foreground
- FIXED: if you're using the Camera Roll (iCloud) to show photos, super short durations of 1-4 seconds are allowed

These features are NOT in yet:
- weather/temperature - did not have time
- location of photo - Google does not give us access

... update: the update was just released (1.7.0) with this feature, you should see it within 24 hours in the App Store.

Fantastic app - it has allowed me to repurpose an old iPad that has no other value. Many thanks.

Two small suggestions:

1) Could you add an option for night time mode to turn off the date and time so that the screen is completely blank? I plan to leave the app running 24/7 and am a little worried about burn-in of the year (in particular) over time.

2) Could you make the album name in the photo date section optional? I draw all my photos from the same album, so that information is redundant for me.

Thanks!

Love the clean simplicity of the app. I use it for reviewing stillsof colorgrades on set with Director of photography.

Two features I'd love to see;

Being able to set a specific order of photos in the photos app and have that same order in soloslide

Ability to upload ICC profiles, to ensure correct calibration of the ipads screen

Video playback issues require manual swipe

First, I love this app. Almost perfect.

My only issue is with video playback. Some videos fail to play and instead display either the QuickTime logo or a slashed play button.

I realize some videos might not be compatible but could we set a timeout limit or some way to skip unplayable videos without having to physically swipe the screen?

I have a NAS box with SMB connections. Can we please have Solosides be able to access photos stored on SMB connections, including .tif files. Otherwise I have to laboriously copy my photos to iCloud or Google Drive.
