SoloSlides regularly throws the following errors while the WIFI/Internet connection is just fine:
"Uh oh, could not load photos"
"Check your internet connection. Check your filter settings. And try again."
Try again doesn't help.
When this is happening it also can't find any albums on Google Photos.
Deleting the app and signing in again doesn't fix it.
After a few hours/minutes it seems to reconnect itself without user intervention.
I'm noticing that this is happening almost on the same times (around 06:00 AM - 10 AM Central Europe Time) and this week almost every day.
I'm also using SoloSlides on multiple iOS devices and they are all experiencing the same issue.
Hope you guys can shine a light on this. It's almost the perfect photo slide/stand app

Strange, sounds like an outage of the google photos API. Is this still happening daily?
Does it still happen if you turn off night-time mode?

Hi Tim,
It happened this morning on all devices. During the morning it started working again. I have 2 iPhones which I use dedicated as a picture frame, so that's why I notice it immediately.
Nigh-Time is turned off, I don't use it.

Thanks for reporting. I dug into this, and learned that the app is hitting its quota with the Google Photos API: the app is running out of requests and Google stops responding. I attempted to request a higher quota, but apparently this is not possible - I wrote to Google and i'm awaiting a response. I'll see what else I can do.
In the meantime, I apologize for the inconvenience...

Glad you found it.
Is this per device? Per gmail account? Or is it on your side a total amount of requests for all customers?

Total for all customers. We are a Google Photos Partner, ie. fully verified and approved (not using the low API limits for testing). Hopefully Google can raise the limit, which IMO isn't very high

Update: Google raised the limit. We also put out an update that should reduce the usage.
So, all issues should be now fixed please let me know

Yes, this seems to fix it!! No errors 2 mornings in a row. Great support.
Thanks for the nice app! Please consider keeping support for iOS 10, even if you are forced to drop specific frameworks/API's. I have 2 dedicated devices using Soloslides.

You're welcome!
Yeah, I don't plan to drop support for iOS 9 unless i'm forced to, because many iPad 2s are floating around there and they max out at iOS 9.
