Mine stops running too

Mine pauses too. Old iPad running IOS 10.3.3 and Google Photos. Is this app suppose to keep running? Every morning I have to restart it and it also stops during the day. Nice app but?

Update---it was running last nite when we went to bed, this morning it stopped again at 5:02 AM.
