SoloSlides can’t find my Google Albums Aug 24, 2024

I noticed recently that Google has made a change to Google Photos. The layouts are different and the way you can manage your photos are different. I am a photographer and been shooting for over the last 15 years. And so I like to play slideshow of previous photo shoots dating all the way back to 2009. I had no issues using this app until two days ago. Don’t know what happened. But for some reason, I cannot connect to any of my Google Photo albums using SoloSlides. I’ve researched this community and I’ve seen what the previous users have said and tried each of those solutions that was suggested and still, no luck. I don’t know if it’s because of the new layout and format that Google has done with Google Photos or what is going on. But I do appreciate your help.

Hi I just tried it and I'm able to load an album fine on Soloslides.
Can you please try signing out of your google photos account in Soloslides, and see if it works when you sign back in. To do this go to the bottom of the settings screen in the app and hit "Disconnect from Google Photos"

Yes, I have logged out of Soloslides by going to "Disconnect from Google Photos". I logged into my other Google account that has photo albums and the same issue happens. I am trying this with my iPad and iPhone. If I select a date range like January 1, 2022 - August 25, 2024 and select photos, then photos will play when I use Soloslides, but I still can't find the albums.

Don't know what happened, but today, magically, I can now see all of the albums. Things are back to normal. I also noticed that while I was having this issue with SoloSlides, that all of my albums were not displaying in Google Photos. Only albums from 2021-2024 were displaying. Today all of my albums are showing from 2010-2024. As I said in my initial email, Google made some changes to the layout and format for Google Photos. So, I honestly think their changes impacted the way SoloSlides display the albums. Issue resolved.

Glad to hear the issue was resolved.
Soloslides uses the official Google API for Google Photos. I suppose there was something up with your account's data...
