cannot connect to Canon EOS on hidden network

I have the Pro version of Wifibooth installed on the iPad connected to the hidden, secured network in our building.

I connected the Canon to the same network. WB says looking for camera forever...

I've adjusted the settings in WB to "slow camera". I've restarted the iPad.

I need to get this connected by tomorrow morning!!! Please, please help!!!

Hi Cassie
Does the ipad show that it is connected to your wifi network?
Unfortunately the problem isn’t with wifibooth — if the network is “secure” then the issue is almost certainly that the network router is blocking uPnP traffic, which the Canon cameras require for connection.
My suggestion is to use your mobile phone as the hotspot (connect camera and ipad to mobile phone) if your office network doesn’t work

I also just tried connecting via our open public wifi. Same "looking for camera" situation.

I'll check in with the IT folks about the "uPnP traffic".

Thanks.

Yes, public networks almost always block upnp as well as other traffic types — Canon needs upnp and custom IP protocols like PTP to be allowed.

You could test your setup at home or using your mobile phone as the hotspot to make sure the network is the problem ...
