The D750's wifi is much better, presumably because since it is builtin, it has a MUCH larger antenna. But it still has the severe limitation that it cannot connect elsewhere, everything must connect to it. Sony has that too. Canon's wifi is far superior in performance and features.

Alright, good to keep that in mind. Perhaps I'll look into investing in a Canon somewhere down the line.. Hopefully I can find one for cheap.

Go for it. I used to be a Nikon shooter, using a Canon for photobooths. Now i'm a Fuji shooter: still using Canons for photobooths!
The cheapest Canon you can get with great performance is the Canon 750D aka T6i. Don't get the only one cheaper than that (with builtin wifi), the 1300D aka T6, it is not fast enough for live-view.
