Can't take photo

Postby Pacibl » Tue May 17, 2016 4:08 pm

Hi,

Thank you for this very useful app.

I've got a problem with my nikon 5500d : i can't take photo in remote with my iPad.
My iPad is well connected to my nikon and i see the button in the app, but when i push the button, nothing happens...
I tried with Nikon wmu app and it works.

For information, i use the trial mode to test the app.
Can you help me please? I would like to know before buying the app...

Thk u very much for your answer

Hi Pacibl
Sounds like the app has the wrong command code for your camera.
You should use a remote trigger (ie the Phottix Plato) for now. I will need to get a D5500 to check it out and figure out what the correct code is.
You can turn off the shutter button in the app, by going to Settings app -> Wifi booth

Ok, thank you for your answer.

It means that we can wait for a new release of the app?

Ok, can you say, approximatively, when the new version will be released?

The issue for the Nikon D5500 has been fixed in the newly-available update, 2.2.0.
Please open the Apple App Store app to update to 2.2.0.
Note: it can take up to 24 hours for the update to become available in your area.

Ok, i downloaded the last version and it works very well! Thank you!

I have just noticed a little problem in landscape mode with the timer, which is partially hidden.

Moreover, do you plan to add live view in wifi?

Ok.

Could we think about an alternative to live view like, for example, add the view from the iPad? It will solve the problem of compatibility with each camera.

The problem with the countdown timer in landscape mode has been fixed in version 2.2.1, which is now on the app store (note, it can take up to 24 hours before your ipad finds the update).
I'm not sure what you mean, add the view from the ipad... basically, I have no way to get a video feed from the Canon/Nikon camera...

If il is complex to display live view from the camera, i mean to display "live view" from the iPad, like in iPad mode.
Because, i think, that it's quite annoying not display a live view/preview in a photo booth. But It's a workaround :). Do you understand what i mean?

Yes but then ppl would compose themselves for the wrong shot. The ipad might not even be facing the right way.

Yes, or course, it means that iPad and camera have to be aligned.
Easy to do.
