Delay after focus failed

Postby designn » Sun Sep 10, 2017 7:57 am

hey, i use the current build of the App (selfie package) on an iPad mini, connected with a Canon 1300D.
I had an issue with the loading screen (the pink, filling circle) after one (or more) of the three photos had a focus fail.
So when my camera can't find the focus, because the guests are moving to fast for example, the circle takes about 2 minutes to load completely (it is stuck right at the beginning of the loading process) and the customers think the app crashed. The images that where in focus are loaded after the two minutes, but nobody wants to wait this long ;). Is there a way to fix this issue?

Greetings from Germany :)

Can you please try this: Settings app -> wifibooth -> turn on "faster camera"
Then restart the app (kill it)

I tried it, the issue still exists.
I made a short Video, I hope this helps:

Thanks the movie definitely helped.
First off -- when I run photobooths, I'm usually using flash. This means an aperture of something like f9, which lends itself very well to manual focus (ie. focus the camera two-thirds of the way to the backdrop). Is that a possibility for you?
One thing I notice that's a mistake in wifibooth: it should not wait 60 seconds when "Faster camera" is turned on, but it does. That's a bug, i'll fix that in the next update (4.0.3). If it's important to you, you can beta test this ahead of time via Apple Testflight.

I usually use a continuous lighting with the booth.
At my last wedding the photobooth-spot was so dark, that i had to switch to f/4,5 aperture (with AF on). I hope this won't happen to often in the future, so I can switch to MF. I can wait till the next update, but I can test it if you need someone who beta-test it for you. :)
Thank you!

Thanks for the offer, sure, i'll add you to the beta for the next update (won't be available probably until later this week, waiting on iOS 11).
Please PM me the email address you can receive on your ipad.

Great app. Really enjoying its features. Any way to have video messaging? Being able to record on the app for 10 seconds and add it to the gallery would be fantastic or even saving it to a separate album. Any thought to adding it in the future?

Thanks
