Hi. I just installed the APP and paid for the lowest level (2.99).

My questions are as follows -
I understand that live view is not possible when connecting over WI-FI - either directly to a camera or to an Eyefi. Is there any reason I couldn't have a separate monitor hooked up to the video out on the camera so people could see what the picture will look like? (Minus any effects of course)

Hi highrez
I am not sure about video out, especially in the (regular) case where flash is being used.

A couple of points that might help:
- after the photo is taken, a preview is shown so the guests can see the photo (and make and make any adjustments necessary for the next photo) -- as long as the camera is triggered from the ipad. This is not possible with eyefi
- sony cameras' live-view is supported

I havent tested that one, but if the sony app on your mobile phone can see a liveview from your a5000, then yes wifibooth should support it too. Please try it out and let me know, that'd help. You don't have to buy the app for this - it would work in any case

A6300 and A7 II. But all the cameras listed in the compatibility list use the same API and therefore al should work

I have the Sony a5000 camera.
I am unable to get the live view feature in the wifibooth app to work. It works on the Sony playmemories app. The camera is updated to the latest firmware 1.10. any suggestions?

Updating the firmware does NOT update the smart remote embedded app. This must be updated. Please follow the instructions here:
https://wifibooth.com/article/connectbuiltin-sony/
Please write a review for Wifibooth on the Apple App store! Indie developers like me really need people like you to review their apps. Instructions on how to write a review: http://goo.gl/w8NsDI.
