Printing Via USB Cable?

Im curious to know would it be possible to connect a printer, like a DNP Printer, to the iPad using an USB Adapter? Instead of having to buy a WPS Pro?
No, because Apple doesn't allow apps to use the lightning port (USB cable).
If you want to avoid buying a WPS pro and are ok with having a computer at the event, you could check out software solutions like Printopia (search on the forum others have said it works)
