printer

Postby yukiportes » Tue Aug 22, 2017 3:57 pm

Hi
I have my ipad, my canon camera and Im gonna buy a printer

I read the blueprint is useful but i need a second device to use it.

Its there any way to print the photos just with the ipad, canon camera and the printer without the second device.

And if there a way to print which characteristics must to have the printer, just wifi, airprint, bluetooth
Which is the more useful.

Luckily for you, you have a Canon -- and Canons support infrastructure wifi mode, meaning, you can connect the camera's wifi to some wifi router.
So yes, you can do it without Blueprint / second device.

You need something that your Canon and your printer can connect their wifi to -- for example, a wifi router. You can get mini portable wifi routers quite cheap - for example, this one for $30 on amazon.. note that i'm NOT recommending it as I have never used it, I'm just showing you what I mean...

For a printer if you have a small budget you can check out the Canon Selphy printers, they are slow but reliable and support what you need. No, the printer does NOT need Bluetooth -- no part of wifibooth / blueprint supports the link to the printer being bluetooth (it must be wifi)

Hope that helps

Indeed sleepy printers are working well. They are just slow (1 min per print).

But do the DNP or similar printers will one day be wifi enable out of the box??? This companies are late on wireless connectivity...

@apochromatic No, their business model is to sell you a 2nd product to enable the wireless, which is a profit-generator for them. Like the DNP WPS products. There is some small solace in the fact that you can upgrade the wireless functionality without changing the printer itself...

Indeed tim...

By the way, in my last post, I wanted to say "selphy", not "sleepy". Thanks autocorrection!

The selphy printers are pretty slow, so sleepy was at least correct :)
