Feature Request: Ability to increase resolution of printed and saved pictures

Postby djpedroc » Mon Jul 02, 2018 6:23 pm

<t>Hi Tim!<br/>
<br/>
I was wondering if there was a way to increase the resolution of the pictures being printed as well as being saved to Dropbox? Honestly, I don't think the resolution is that great. Anything I'm missing to possibly make it better?<br/>
<br/>
Thanks!<br/>

On a side note, before I start complaining, I'm going to try to get an iPad Pro.

The resolution of a photo saved on dropbox depends on many things, including which camera you use and its settings, the event settings, and the actions take on the photo (ie printed it vs just emailed it).
Tell me your situation and ill help you out!

Well, We are using an iPad Air, printing the pictures to a DNP DS620A printer, and then emailing the pictures to the clients. I think my setup is pretty straightforward. I just noticed that the print resolution seems to be very low. I"m not sure if this is because of the iPad Air camera or what?

Anything you can do to help me increase the resolution would be great!

Here is the printer: http://dnpphoto.com/en-us/Products/Printers/DS620A

Here is a link to one of the photos saved in DropBox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6522v22hopqeg ... e.jpg?dl=0

Thanks for your help! Happy 4th!

So you're right that was has happened, is that the front camera resolution was used to determine the pixels of the collage, and the front camera has a low resolution on your iPad - if you get a better iPad that'll improve.
However, it goes without saying that it could make a bigger collage. I'll fix that for the next update if I can.

So are you saying that if I increase the resolution of the front facing camera, it increases the resolution of the entire collage?

Currently that is true, because the collage-sizing algorithm works like this in 4.4.3: make the collage the size of the smallest image in the collage (in case someone zoomed it in a lot).
That's changed in 4.4.4: did you see you're invited to the beta? you can go try the new behavior now, you should see that now the collages have a minimum size of the print resolution (which is 1800x1200 pixels by default)

I think I got it. I’ll try to get an iPad Pro soon.

About the beta, can you send the invite to a different email. I have all my photo booth stuff associated to that.

Thanks!
