Photo Borders missing on email screen

Postby chamberphotography » Wed Jun 20, 2018 12:55 pm

Hello. I noticed something odd on the collage screen. While selecting the photos for the collage, I see the colored borders that choose on for the photos. But when click the collage to get ready to send to email, the colored borders disappear for some reason. When I receive the email of the collage though, the colored borders are there.

Also, When taking 3 photos, only 2 photos appear on the collage

You are right about the borders missing on the collage screen. That is something i hope to fix soon (not easy).

But when you take 3 photos, 3 should definitely appear in the collage. Does this happen all the time, or only sometimes? Which camera? Does it happen for you with ipad camera too?

It happens on my canon 6d. iPad camera works fine. This is the 1st time I’ve encountered this

Which ipad?
Also for testing purposes can you please set the jog image size on the 6D to the smallest it can go - does it now work?

I have the iPad Pro 12.9. And switching to the lowest jpeg didn’t change anything.

I'm trying to reproduce this but no luck yet.
When you say the collage logo disappears to you mean from the "collage preview" (showing in the gallery screen), or you mean in the collage screen itself, or both?

I suspect there's some combination of settings that is causing the bug, which you have set, but that I don't know about.

Can you please take screenshots of the following 3 screens of settings (scrolled to the top), and post them somewhere like https://imgbb.com/ , then post the links in a reply here. The 3 settings screens I need:
- Taking Photos
- Gallery
- Branding

Once i can replicate your settings, i'll probably find the bug!
thanks for your patience.

And here are the screen shots that results into only 2 photos appear in the collage where it’s suppose to be 3

After playing around with the settings- WiFi Booth. I turned off faster cam, turned on disable cam file system access and the 3 photos are showing up with the appropriate setting in the collage. It’s quite odd that it works now. But after taking the photos it takes a little longer to load, even when I wAs having troubles. Maybe the recent update is throwing things off?

I havent had a chance to look at your settings yet - i am on the road.

All of the settings in settings app -> wifibooth should be turned off. Do the issues occur only when faster camera is on, and go away when it is off?

With everything turned off, the app is extremely slow and loses connection. I have everything on except Faster Cam and Restore from Wifi Booth. Its useable then

The slower cam setting is on? You definitely should not need that with the 6D...
Same with disable cam filesystem access, the 6D should not need that.
What is your wifi setup? Connected to the cam directly or via a router - which router?

I have both my ipad and camera connected directly to my home wifi without going through a router

Your home wifi is a router. Home wifi networks are usually very busy.

Lets try a thing.
Please kill wifibooth - make sure it isnt running.
Go to settings app -> wifibooth -> make sure all settings are off. Especially make sure “Alt cam libs” is OFF — because when this is on the app is using ancient old camera libraries that are no longer tested, and the faster/slower cam options are ignored.
Next. Connect wifibooth to the canon 6D directly, not using your home wifi.
How do things work in this configuration?

So I did what you said and connect my camera directly to the ipad and booth with the cameras wifi with those settings off and it is much faster and the collages are working. But I would need wifi to send the email of the pictures. Any suggestions? Thank you helping as well

Im very happy to help, you’re welcome.
Ok - so if you leave all the settings the same (all off) and use home wifi, it is much slower right?
And where are you doing the next event with wifibooth: at home? Another venue?
You could also have your ipad and camera connect to your mobile phone’s hotspot. Can you try this and see if it is better than your home wifi?
Another option is to buy a 4G simcard hotspot device and have everything connect to that.

Its slower when connected to my phone hot spot and home wifi with everything turned off, but faster and doable live view with Alt cam libs on when connected to my wifi on both ends. I guess I'll just have to do it like that. This has been happening after I updated the software. My event is Saturday at a venue. Im going to keep playing around with it until I figure out something

Hey tim

Just wanted to give you an update on my event this past Saturday. Everything went well! Only had 1 hiccup where a photo took a little long to pop up on the ipad but other than that, things went well. I also added a 2nd screen for a smoother live view. I disable the view option from the iPad used a direct connection from the camera to the tv screen. Here is my set up

Woah, awesome setup!
So the 6D supports having a cable-connection as well as wifi, at the same time?! I would not have expected that!!!
If it helps, the next update will have a smoother/faster update for Canon and Nikon cameras (possibly Sony too)....
