Can a DSLR be able to connect to IPAD without wifi?

I bought the eyefi card but the one that is compatible with this app costs around $100 to $200, so was wondering if there is a way to do it without wifi.

I have a canon t3 rebel.

Sorry no. Even eyefi is not great - it cannot trigger the camera so a lot of functionality from the app is lost.
I recommend a camera with builtin wifi like the 750D.
