Email Settings HELP!

I am having trouble setting up email on the app. I have filled out all of the proper fields, signed into my gmail account via the portal on the app, but I cannot send a test email and am getting the message: "Your email could not be sent, Please check your email settings."

I have a gmail email, with the EMAIL SMTP PORT: 465 entered, and I have tried every option for Email SMTP Connection Type.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi!
Please set your email smtp server to smtp.gmail.com, and set smtp username to “user123” if your email is user123@gmail.com

Hi, I’m trying to use my info@soberanisproductions.com email, it is hosted by gmail, but I keep getting the could not send email, check your setting popup. What can I do?

Did the app prompt you to sign into Google, and show you the Google web sign-in? Did you get signed in okay?
Also, please set your SMTP username to "info", SMTP port 465, SMTP server smtp.gmail.com

Yes I sign in with no problem and i signed in ok. I input the info you said and I still have the same problem, pls help!

I try with my personal gmail and it works, but it dont works with the company email info@soberanisproductions.com, what can I do?

At the moment i'm afraid that I am not sure what the problem is, but i'm confident the update coming soon will fix it.
Are you able to create a new free @gmail address just for this one event, like myeventname@gmail.com ?
That would get you through to next week...

Good news, the update with a much easier Google gmail flow is now available on the app store. Please update to 4.7.2 and let me know your work email is working!

Hi Tim, I may have a similar issue to FredyS. Personal gmail account works perfectly with the Google integration, but our organization's G Suite accounts do not. The sign in process appears to work, up to Wifibooth showing 'You are signed into Google', but this disappears after navigating away from the Google integration settings.

On the backend, Wifibooth does get added to the list of connected applications for the G Suite user account. I've checked API permissions, and I think everything is correct for allowing access. Adding Wifibooth to the list of trusted apps in API Permissions didn't change the behavior, nor did allowing less secure applications from the users security settings. Any ideas?

Sorry it isn’t working for you. I’ll need to get you to install and use a testflight build that has logging enabled, and then you can send me the logs. If you are willing to do that let me know (will take you 5-10mins). Im on vacation so im a little slow to respond.

Sure, would be glad to do that. We're using a regular gmail account for the time being, so not a huge rush.

I'll follow up with the logs via e-mail, but I think we have it working now. Needed to enable Drive SDK API access in the G Suite admin console, as described at the following link - https://support.google.com/a/answer/6105699?hl=en

Oh that’s great! Yes very good point: you would need Drive SDK enabled. Was it disabled by default for you?

Good question, I'm not sure. We hadn't disabled it in the recent past, but it's possible that was done by a prior administrator.

Hi Tim,

Big event coming up on Thursday. I like the new updates! I'm having trouble with the email function tho. When taking pictures offline and then connecting to the internet later the emails were not automatically sent. I went to the share center and hit resend, and then I received all of the photos. There were no files waiting to be uploaded.

Also,Will the app load and store all email address in order at the bottom of the share center tab? is there a limit?

There is no limit to how many addresses can be shown in the share center.
I will look into your issue. First: were you using BluePrint when this happened? Was it just emails that were stuck or texts, dropbox uploads etc - anything else?

Hey Tim,

Thank you for the response. I was using blueprint. I am only doing emails at the moment. I just went to test it again. It actually just sent all of the photos as soon as i connected to the internet, even the ones from last week. I wouldn't want guests to receive the email more than once.

If you are using BluePrint then the emails could get queued on either side. Best to let both apps - blueprint and wifibooth - run for a minute or two with internet access after your event has finished, to make sure all queues have been processed. When wifibooth is connected to blueprint (not for the blueprint camera), then ALL email/text/internet actions will be sent via blueprint.

I think that's what happened. When I disconnected the Ipad and printer, the iphone which hosts blueprint auto connected to my house wifi. This allowed both the ipad and iphone to be connected to the internet simultaneously. Initially, I turned off the iphone and only connected the ipad to the internet. So, with both connected I believe it works seamlessly. You are brilliant Tim. Thank you again.
