WiFi connected but no internet

SoloLink is an iOS app that shares your printer(s) over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi so that you can stay connected to your camera and be able to print. It can also share your iPhone's camera to Wifibooth.

WiFi connected but no internet

Postby S7imjim » Wed Feb 27, 2019 4:02 pm

I have a Sony a6500 and use the camera WiFi to connect my iPad. I was able to connect to my phones WiFi and received confirmation of the connection. When I tried to txt with Twilio it comes up as “fail”. When I reconnect iPad to WiFi the messages sent. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi there,
You are posting in the BluePrint forum. Are you already using BluePrint on your iPhone, with your iPad? That is exactly what you want to do, if you want your iPad to be connected to your Sony a6500 and have internet access at the same time.

Yeah I’m using blueprint to share my internet to the iPad. I get the “connected to iPhone(internet connection)” in the Wifibooth app. The WiFi name and an IP address are there too. I tried minimizing Wifibooth and using chrome to check the connection and web pages don’t load.

Ah ha. Webpages won’t load - it is not a general proxy.
To send twilio texts you must be signed in on blueprint side to wifibooth service (on first screen). Can you check tbat?

Yeah I'm signed in to Twilio on the wifibooth side. The ipad with wifibooth, has green status for wifi, camera, and twilio. The Wifi is connected to the camera. The Blueprint, iPhone, is connected to the iPad with confirmation on both devices.

Yes but are you also signed in to the Wifibooth service on the Blueprint side? You must be for twilio to work over blueprint. It is the bottom button on the first screen of the blueprint app when you start it

OK I did some testing. I did find one issue: if you are on the twilio event settings page and you're using the "TRY IT" button, and blueprint is connected, Wifibooth will tell you "Error please try again" but it does actually work (the test SMS is actually sent through blueprint correctly). Is that what you see too

Yes I got the error but it did go through! I tried to send a picture and it went through with no error, just the green check mark. It was probably not signing in to Wifibooth via blueprint? Only option that I changed. The video didn’t mention that option so I must have missed it.
Thanks a bunch Tim! Can’t wait to use this setup for my wedding!

You're welcome! You did nothing wrong. You found a bug in my app! In the specific case you tried, Wifibooth erroneously gives you an error when it should not. I'm fixing it now!

Hope your wedding is totally awesome!
