Hello!
I have a Sony A7II updated with the latest Firmware 4.01. I've updated the apps as suggested in the support article.
I turn on the Camera, start the Smart Remote Control app. I then connect the iPad Pro I am using to the Camera.
I launch Wifibooth, then goto connect to Camera, and select Connect to Camera with Wi-Fi. It shows that I am connected to the correct Wi-Fi network, but the two devices never quite finish the connection. There is no image preview and I cannot take pictures with it.
I have verified that with the Sony app on the iPad I can control the camera and take photos.. but Wifibooth cannot. See the screenshot.
Any ideas?

That is strange! Can you post a link to the screenshot via imgur? Or whatever service you like
Are you able to see the version of the smart remote app?

Re: Sony A7II Connecting but no live preview or photos
So you can see in the screenshot I am connected to the Wi-Fi network of the camera. It actually shows information from the last photo but no preview.
What is odd, is when I first tried all of this it actually worked.. then decided to update the firmware and apps after the warnings I read.. and now it doesn't work.

I can’t see anything wrong.
Can you please try cascable - can you connect to that?

Re: Sony A7II Connecting but no live preview or photos
I tried Cascable on the iPad and it worked great. Was able to see the preview and take photos. I then quit Cascable and re-launched Wi-Fi Booth and it showed that it was connected to the Sony A7II but same issue, no preview and no controls.I can’t see anything wrong.

Is there some sort of debugging mode I can get into to pull logs or anything I can do to help?
Re: Sony A7II Connecting but no live preview or photos
That *is* interesting! I will PM you a link for a build with logging shortly.
Just to be sure: when you go to Settings App -> Wifibooth, all of the switches are OFF right?

Re: Sony A7II Connecting but no live preview or photos
Thanks Tim,
I can confirm App Version is 4.98.2 build 5594
All Wifibooth Settings are Off as are all Debug Settings.
Is it worth toggling anything here?

Re: Sony A7II Connecting but no live preview or photos
No it is not.
I'm still waiting for Apple's servers to process the build I uploaded for you. They're having a slow day.

Re: Sony A7II Connecting but no live preview or photos
Hi Tim,
Unfortunately I have a similar issue as jacinf, this time with my 1st generation Sony A7. Same issue where the camera connects to the iPad and the camera information is displayed in Wifibooth, but cannot show a preview or take pictures.
However, with my setup, the preview does begin and I can take pictures if I wait on that screen for about 30-60 seconds. It does get frustrating if there are people waiting to take a photo. Is there anyway of getting this 30-60 delay worked out?
Thanks.

Hi ggnorf (most excellent name BTW),
Can you please try with a freshly formatted single memory card inserted, that has exactly one photo on it you just took with the camera before connecting Wifibooth?
... because if it does take that long to start, i'm guessing that time is being spent querying the memory card. Can't be sure though, that's a first thing to try.
